I-15, Colorado City, Littlefield and Beaver Dam Arizona All Are Within Mohave County's Most Remote Justice Court Precinct
There are five justice court precincts in Mohave County. The North Canyon Justice Court's precinct is located in the northern part of the county above the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River in an area called the Arizona Strip.
Jurisdiction
North Canyon Justice Court in many ways is isolated from the rest of Mohave County and Arizona, but it is relatively accessible by Utah and Nevada to the immediate north and western border.
Interstate 15 is within North Canyon Justice Court's boundaries as it runs between Mesquite, Nevada and St. George, Utah. This stretch of highway runs along the communities of Beaver Dam and Littlefield, Arizona.
North Canyon Justice Court is located just South of Colorado City Arizona. Previously the North Canyon Justice Court was named the Moccasin Precinct justice court and was located just north of Pipe Springs National Monument and the Kaibab Indian Reservation.

Judges and Prosecutors
The Justice of the Peace for North Canyon Justice Court is Justice of the Peace, Barbara Brown. Barbara Brown was elected as Justice of the Peace in 2012. Previously Judge Brown was the head clerk of the court. She was appointed in 2011 as interim justice of the peace after Judge Mitchell Kaluali resigned to become the Lake Havasu City Magistrate.
The Mohave County Attorney's Office is the main prosecuting agency for the North Canyon Justice Court except for Colorado City municipal cases.
The County Attorney's Office handles misdemeanor criminal cases and court hearings that are scheduled twice monthly. Misdemeanors often include, DUI, criminal speeding, local cases of assault and domestic violence type offenses.
Felony cases and arrest that occur in North Canyon Justice Court precinct often conduct Initial Appearances everyday, but most cases are transferred to the Mohave Superior Court after grand jury indictment. Therefore preliminary hearings scheduled in felony cases often get vacated or canceled later.
