Scholarship Opportunity Available for Criminal Justice and Paralegal Students
The Law Offices of Shawn B. Hamp have continued to display their support for the local community by donating $2,400 to fund scholarships for students at Mohave Community College. These scholarships were designed to assist students pursuing careers in the legal profession. The donation will be split into four $600 scholarships – two for those studying criminal justice, and two for those studying to become a paralegal. This latest donation to MCC has increased the firm's contributions to $4,800 over the last three years.
About Shawn Hamp
Attorney Shawn Hamp was born and raised in the state of Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson for his undergraduate and legal education. Upon becoming a lawyer in his home state, Shawn moved to Mohave County where he has practiced for nearly 20 years. A Law Firm Dedicated to the Future of Mohave County
The Paralegal and the Administration of Justice Scholarships were established in August 2016, as a way for Hamp to give back to the next generation of local, legal professionals. Those at the Law Offices of Shawn Hamp believe that their contributions to Mohave Community College will ensure that the future workforce in the Mohave County legal justice system continue to make this area a better place for it's residents.
MCC Foundation Executive Director Carrie Kelly said,
“Scholarships like Shawn's are so important to our students at MCC. Most of our students have financial need and we don't have as many scholarships that are designated for our students who want to enter the legal field which makes Shawn's scholarship all the more important for our community.
Since the original donation, Hamp's team has doubled their annual contribution from $1,200 to $2,400, bringing the total contributions to the Mohave Community College Foundation to 4,800.
